Family Program
Family Program is crucial for
patients and their families’ recovery. The needs of the
family are always addressed at MTOCC and are often a
significant aspect in successful treatment. The program is
based on the premise that when the patient returns to the
family environment, the dynamics of the family will change.
Therefore, our goal is to help foster a family system that
is supportive of the treatment. We offer an opportunity for
the family to begin to restructure mutually fulfilling and
productive interaction.
We believe that the patient’s relationships provide the
context in which meaningful change occurs. Chemical
dependency is a family illness and all members of the
addicted person’s family are affected. Understanding the
disease concept is an integral part of the family’s
education. Every family member faces their own issues as
they relate to the patient’s dysfunction and process.
Learning how to distinguish between codependency and the
appropriate display of love and support is also an important
issue for the family in recovery.
The program provides psycho-education, support and
multi-family therapy. Family services are provided as added
value to all our patients, because we know that they are
important component to the patients' treatment. We encourage
family participation as a part of the patient's healing
process. .
